"Alfred Morris’s humility and likeability are reaching absurd levels, as evidenced by him refusing to submit a wish list for Santa and instead asking Santa what he would like for himself." ~Dan Steinberg, The Washington Post

We had the pleasure of bringing our photobooth to Women of Washington Redskins "Ladies Night Out" at Redskin Park's new practice bubble. The ladies got a workout at football 101 activity stations and had a hot seat Q&A with Alfred Morris, Leonard Hankerson and Josh Morgan! Our line was nonstop as women of all ages enjoyed posing and showing pride for their team in the booth. Along with football props, we also brought Christmas props. We found it telling that many woman paired their skins signs with our "Don't stop believing" Santa sign. I think this embodies the spirit of a woman Redskins fan, sticking with their team through thick and thin! Guests loved being able to upload their photos straight to their facebook and twitter with our social media app. As women of Washington ourselves, we especially enjoyed this event. Thanks again for having us!

EMS Technologies Holiday party at Herrington Harbor (Rose Haven, MD) was intimate and fun. Everyone had a blast getting loose and making silly faces with our Christmas props. There was an awesome dinner buffet, open bar, live music and a generous giftcard giveaway. What a great company to work for! Thanks for an amazing time and Happy Holidays.

"I am the trustee for the best bloody fans on the face of the earth." ~Jack Kent Cooke.

Yesterday we brought the booth to the Redskin's premium club holiday party.  We enjoy all of our events, but doing an event for the Washington Redskins was especially awesome for me and my fanatical family. The highlights of the evening would have to be having Larry Michael as our first guest in the booth, guests fighting over who used the RG3 sign next, and Lorenzo Alexander photo bombing a unsuspecting family posing in the booth!  We got to spend the evening with other die-hard fans who are all still buzzing about the 4 game winning streak that our skins have pulled off.  Everyone from the staff to the fans and players were in a festive, celebratory mood. Thanks to Rachel for giving us this opportunity! HTTR.

"Babies are such a nice way to start people." ~Don Herold

Jamelle's "sweets and treats" themed baby shower was both entertaining and adorable. There was never a dull moment with this group as they enjoyed the photobooth, a delicious brunch, baby games and of course plenty of yummy sweets and treats. We even had our first celebrity in the photobooth, JC Hayward (WUSA 9 News), a family friend of the mother-to-be!

The expecting Father was in Finland but that didn't stop him from being at the party. Jamelle and guests carried around the ipad with Jason on skype so he could say hello to family and friends and check out the party. My favorite photo of the day was of Jamelle skyping with Jason in the photobooth! To Jamelle and Jason, congratulations and thank you so much for making us part of Jordyn's welcoming :).

“Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone.” ~Charles Schulz

During the season of giving Emagine It, Inc. could not have given their employees a better Holiday party! Held at The Mayflower Hotel (Washington, DC) this bash featured a live band, a photographer, a display screen streaming photos taken throughout the night, course upon course of delicious food and desserts, a wii competition, dancing and more. The crowd was lively and entertaining as they dressed up in Christmas props and hopped in the photobooth. We're so glad we were there to help capture such a extravagant night. To Anika—thanks so much for making Bow-Tie Booths a part of Emagine It's festivities!

“Love: A temporary insanity curable by marriage.” ~Ambrose Bierce

Daniele and Brendon have family and friends who know how to party. The photobooth line was nonstop and the guests couldn't stop laughing every time they sat down in front of the camera! Held at Crowne Plaza (Crystal City, VA) , the wedding was both fun and elegant. Daniele looked stunning in her lace wedding dress and her bridesmaids looked classy in their ivory, designer dresses. Daniele and Brendon looked so sweet together and we are so glad we were able to help capture their crazy, happy wedding day.

"A trip to nostalgia now and then is good for the spirit." -Dan Bartolovic

We set up for our first class reunion at the Holiday Inn in Solomon's Island. Patuxent High School class of 2002 showed up ready to have a good time. Just have a look at the pictures and you can see they succeeded! The organizing committee went out of their way to make this day special and we are thankful they let our photobooth be a part of the celebration!

"It’s that can't-eat, can't-sleep, reach-for-the-stars, over- the-fence, World Series kind of love."

Courtney and Kyle held their wedding reception at Mary's Hope on Church Cove (St. Inigoes, MD) along the banks of Church Cove off St. Inigoes Creek. This elegant location has quite the victorian charm and is located on acres of beautiful, spacious land. They couldn't have picked a more perfect venue for their vintage and whimsical wedding.

Things I loved about this wedding:
  • The details! Everything seemed to perfectly match their theme. I especially loved the flowing blush pink table cloths, the walkway of candle lit mason jars that lead into the reception tent, and the teapot name tags at each table.
  • A video of young Courtney talking to her Dad on video chat about her new haircut. Her dad telling her she looked beautiful exactly what a little girl loves to hear, which led into the Daddy-Daughter Dance which was especially touching.
  • Courtney's junior bridesmaid—so precious, sweet and our #1 photobooth fan at the wedding.
  • All the guys wore bow-ties! I especially liked the pink bow-ties that the ring bearers wore.
  • The laser light show above the dance floor.
To the newlyweds, thanks for having Bow-Tie Booths be part of your wedding day and we wish you the best :).

"The couple that laughs together, stays together."

The sight of Amanda and Grant as they said their vows under a gazebo with the Chesepeake Bay as a backdrop was as lovely as a painting. After the sunset ceremony, the couple held their reception at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa, which overlooked spectacular views of the bay.

We got a kick out of the maid of honor and best man speeches as they lovingly shared embarrassing stories about the bride and groom. If I remember correctly the stories involved Amanda saying Steve Urkel was hot and Grant's best man saving him from the fate of becoming a supermodel. The wedding felt intimate and relaxed and the guests had a great time with the photobooth. To the happy couple, thanks again for having us and we wish you a life time of happy memories!

"All these places have their moments with lovers and friends, I still can recall. Some are dead and some are living in my life, I've loved them all." ~The Beatles

Jessica and Brian held their wedding and reception at The George Washington Masonic Memorial, which is a magnificent structure that overlooks Alexandria, VA.

I especially enjoyed working with this bride because we always seemed to be on the same page creatively. She wanted to incorporate photobooth props in her custom graphic. I developed a few ideas and she ended up loving the end result with the little faces wearing props. As you can see, I loved these little faces so much, I ended up using them in our new logo!

Jessica and Brian were a pleasure to work with and their family and friends were so much fun! We love seeing guests get creative in the photobooth and with the scrapbook. They even brought some inside joke props—a shake weight and rubber chicken. Congrats to Jessica and Brian! We wish you a lifetime of happiness :).

"A father is always making his baby into a little woman. And when she is a woman he turns her back again." ~Enid Bagnold

We had the pleasure of bringing the photobooth to our local Chick-fil-A's Daddy-Daughter Date Night. Every Daddy-Daughter pair received table service, a tray liner with questions and topics to get the conversation started, a goody bag and a photobooth print. It was so sweet to seeing all the bonding and hearing all the giggles from inside the booth as they struck poses. The little girls beamed as their Dad told them how beautiful they looked in princess tiaras and pink boas. They also got a kick out of dressing up Dad in King crowns and other props. What a special tradition Chick-fil-A has created!

Kristy and Jeff celebrated their wedding reception at Trent Hall Farm (Mechanicsville, MD) with a huge group of their family and friends. The Farm is located on over 300 acres of farmland on the scenic Patuxent River. The venue had a peaceful, homey feel to it. As for the weather—not so peaceful. The photographer told us that there were gusts of wind and a light rain coming down right before the wedding party walked down the isle. Miraculously, the rain stopped and the wind calmed down just in time for Kristy's entrance. Talk about divine providence! Kristy looked absolutely stunning and the joy of the occassion showed on both her and Jeff's faces as they celebrated the day with their loved ones. Congrats again to the married couple and thanks for letting us be part of your big day!

"This much I know is true—that God blessed the broken road that led me straight to you." ~Rascal Flats

This past Saturday we brought the booth to Stephanie and Ed's "Old Hollywood Glam" themed wedding. The couple owns Davis Florist, so we expected the flowers and decor to be awesome, but honestly, we had no idea how spectacular it would be! It was so elegant—full of soft colors, candles and plenty of imitation diamonds that splayed light about the room. The couple even had a 1958 white rolls royce to drive them around. Everyone could not stop talking about how beautiful everything was.

The care and attention to detail shown for this wedding laid witness to the love and care Ed and Stephanie show toward each other.
Even the music selected played out like a soundtrack to a Hollywood movie.

To make things even more enjoyable- their guests were so much fun! I enjoyed hearing the funny comments and non-stop laughter inside the booth. They loved the photobooth and we loved being a part of Stephanie and Ed's big day.

"Happy ever after, after all this time. Oh there's gonna be some ups and downs but with you to wrap my arms around, I'm fine." ~Lady Antebellum

At every wedding I go to, I fall in love with the couple. I think it's safe to say that everyone was in awe of Amber and Matt as they said their vows at The Point at Broome's Island between two waterfalls. The couple has known each other their whole lives. This made for some adorable vows about "catching buckets of frogs", "first love" and "laughing until I snort." I don't think there was a dry eye in the place :).

To make things even better- these two threw a great party. Their vintage lace wedding was both tasteful and entertaining. The wedding was right on the water with a beautiful on site tent, a unique boat bar and a live band. Amber, Matt, their family and friends had an amazing night and we're so glad we could be part of it!

"Love is a Friendship set to Music." --E. Joseph Cossman

Our open air set-up at cocktail hour:
This past Saturday we hauled our photobooth into the city for Laura and Derek's Pier 5 Wedding. The venue was at the heart of the hustle and bustle of Baltimore's Inner Harbor and their "Harbor Club" reception room overlooked panoramic views of the city.

Some of my favorite things about the wedding:
  • PERFECT weather
  • Laura and Derek's taste in music (eclectic and crowd pleasing)
  • The "Don't Stop Believing" sing along when the DJ turned down the music
  • The best man's speech (Laura's older, protective brother) and the story about how he came to approve of and love Derek
  • Watching how adorable Laura and Derek are together; not only are they in love but they also seem like the best of friends
  • Laura's thoughtful hand written thank you card
  • Random fireworks being set off in the city during the reception

"We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love." ~Mother Teresa

This past Sunday we had the honor of bringing our photobooth to help an amazing 7-year-old girl named Maddie with the Grand Opening of her Lemonade Stand. Maddie has been battling leukemia since she was two years old. She told her family that she wanted to be a business owner so they organized the event to help her dreams become reality. On a rainy Sunday with a tornado watch in effect- it didn't look promising. Family and friends gathered in a circle of prayer before the event praying for the best. The little entrepreneur made her entrance at 1:00, all dressed up in an adorable pink tutu and a bright yellow, fruit-patterned work apron. Upon receiveing her official business license from the Charles County Commissioner, she was open for business. I don't know what she was more excited about- her lemonade stand or the fact that Justin Bieber sent her a personal video saying he loved her and wished he could be there! The rain persisted, but so did the steady stream of family and friends who let nothing stand in their way to be a part of this special day.

Recently, my mother Jill and I ran into her cousin Laura (Maddie's Ya Ya) at Chick-fil-A.  She filled us in on Maddie's story and we talked a little bit about the plans for Sunday. She said "I've known a lot of kids in my lifetime, but nobody has touched me like Maddie has." She said that Maddie brought everyone together and made them a true family. I'm so glad we were able to be a part of her big day and capture all the love and emotion that existed there with our photobooth :).

― Terrence Mann

Today we brought the booth to Port Tobacco Theatre's "Camp Mockabee", a theatre camp for kids ages 13-17. Their coordinator, Sarah wanted to surprise them with the photobooth before their big play. It was entertaining to see how creative these thespians were with all of our props!

Katie and Josh's Wedding.

"Of all the fish in the sea... You're the one for me."

Katie and Josh could not have looked any more lovely, all dressed in white at their Swan Point wedding this past Saturday. Katie was not only a beautiful bride, but a gracious host. Josh seems to have found himself a perfect wife and I can't blame him for holding up the "I cried" sign. You know he's a keeper when he's not embarrassed to show vulnerability ;). The photobooth frame of Katie and Josh high-fiving is my favorite bride and groom shot yet!

I've known the Levundski family for years. Katie's Mother, Kathy has gotten us plenty of photobooth gigs. Kathy loves to help people and is a great person to have on your side. Her and her husband have raised 4 children that are known for their intelligence and kindness. Katie is the baby of the family and embodies all of that and more. We really enjoyed being a part of her and Josh's big day!

Cow Appreciation Day

"EAT MOR CHIKIN"

We really enjoyed bringing our photobooth to "Cow Appreciation Day" at our local Chick-fil-A's. We set up at the St. Charles Town Center and the Waldorf restaurant on Friday, July 13th. It's safe to say Chick-fil-A is most everyone's favorite fast food restaurant. They have delicious food, exceptional service, a great atmosphere, a strong sense of community, and polite employees. Everyone (especially a certain catering manager named Kathy) made us feel so welcome and at home!

As for the cows that made an appearance- they came in all shapes, sizes and ages. We had families, teenagers, daycare groups and even senior citizens that showed up dressed as cows from ears to hooves.  They are some of our most colorful pictures taken thus far. Enjoy :).

Kenny & Michelle's Wedding.

"I found what the world is searching for."

I am so glad I got to bring my photobooth to my older brother Kenny's wedding! Everyone close to me knows how highly I think of my brother. He is everything a good man should be- kind, nurturing, strong, funny and intelligent. He is the best brother, son, friend and now husband that anyone could ask for.

Just to give you a little background- on January 29, 2009 I had my 21st birthday party in Towson, MD while attending Towson University. I had no idea that my not-so-little house party would be the day that my brother met his future wife. I specifically remember hoping Michelle would come. Although I didn't know her incredibly well, I found her to be super cute and fun. Somewhere in the midst of the chaos I turned to my brother and told him that Michelle thought he was hot. I'm pretty sure that she didn't even say Kenny was hot, I was just playing both sides of it. I think my exact words were "Hook up with her. She's cute as shit and fun." Kenny took one look at her and said "She is cute as shit." I then went up to Michelle and told her what Kenny said.. you get the idea. It turns out that my drunken intuition was on key because today they are husband and wife and couldn't be more perfect for each other.

Back to the wedding- I'll share what (in my opinion) were some of the highlights.

I saw Kenny's lip quiver as his beaming bride walked down the isle. It will forever be one of the sweetest things I've ever seen.

Michelle's talented Dad, Steve played the guitar and sang during the ceremony. Everyone loved it, I even spotted my baby cousin, Ziva smiling and dancing in the audience.

The speeches were amazing. The maid of honor, Steph made me laugh as she described the funny letters Michelle would write her as a kid. The best man, Stephen somehow transformed into a stand-up comedian. Michelle's Dad said something along the lines of how when he met Kenny it was "love at first sight" and it wasn't long before he realized Michelle had fallen in love with him too, haha.

It's no secret that Kenny and Michelle love to dance. I remember when they first started dating they'd command the dance floor at Padonia Station and other Baltimore bars. I wasn't surprised that their first dance was fun and unique. It was to a Cake cover song "Never Never gonna give you up." Afterwards they invited everyone to the dance floor to jam with them. I enjoyed my Dad's random spurts of dance. Should I even call what he does dancing? His hilarious moves are only seen once every few years. I saw some people that didn't know him giving the "Whats wrong with that guy?!" look. I also enjoyed watching my Mother instructing everyone to fist pump (looks like jersey shore has taught her something.) I reeeally enjoyed the "Backstreets Back" dance and sing along that happened at the end of the night.

Lastly, it was so much fun experiencing the photobooth as a guest! Thanks to my awesome friend, Caitie who took care of everything for me.

I may be a little bias, but it was the best wedding I've ever attended. Kenny and Michelle truly have found what the world is searching for.

Kanza & Salman's Wedding

"True love stories never have endings."

On Saturday, June 30th we arrived with our photobooth at the Hilton Gaithersburg for a traditional Pakistani Wedding.  As I walked into the venue, I was in awe of the surroundings.  The ballroom was serene, everything glistened in shades of red, orange and gold. I thought the decorating was exquisite until I spotted the bride herself.  Kanza and Salman made an epic entrance as their friends and family surrounded them with dancing, singing and music.  As for the guests, they were extremely gracious and a lot of  fun. I must say- the thing I'll remember most is the modest beauty of the women at the wedding. They were both elegant and radiant. I loved the color combinations of their bejeweled dresses and the intricate patterns on their henna stained hands. We are so glad we got the chance to be a part Kanza and Salman's celebration!

John & Melissa's Wedding

"As we grow older together, as we continue to change with age, there is one thing that will never change... I will always keep falling in love with you."

To say that John and Melissa have supportive family and friends is an understatement!  Almost 200 people made the long trip to Natural Bridge, VA to see them tie the knot and then party until the wee hours of the morning.  I even heard someone describe the nuptuals as "The Royal Wedding of Waldorf."  Even more touching was how both the Maid of Honor and Best Man both cried during their toast to the bride and groom.  The entire wedding was filled with sweet, heartfelt moments and I'm so glad that Bow-Tie Booths was there to help capture the night.  It is clear that John and Melissa are a very loved, one of a kind couple that have a crazy beautiful life ahead of them.

Maryland DogFest

We attended Maryland DogFest with our photobooth this past Saturday. We used the greenscreen for the first time and it was a hit! We really enjoyed capturing adorable, silly, spastic portraits of people with their dogs. It was an amazing event for both people and pups and we loved being a part of it :). Hopefully we'll be able to have our booth at Bark at the Park this year, too!
